Faculty of Philosophy of Vilnius University is located in the Old Town.
Founded in 1579 and aimed at further pursuing the European cultural and scientific traditions, the oldest faculty of Vilnius University at the same time remains open and modern.
It is a wide-spectrum institution of science and education that offers study programmes in philosophy, educational sciences, criminology, psychology, social work, social policy, sociology, teacher training as well as organizes scientific research in those areas.

The Institute of Data Science and Digital Technologies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Vilnius University was set up to pursue long-term research and international cooperation in order to benefit the economy of Lithuania. The main activities of the Institute are scientific research and experimental development within research trends approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
